Writing With Intention: Melody
In this Learning Co-Lab, we’ll focus on how melodies carry emotion long before lyrics are fully processed. You’ll learn how melodic shape, range, repetition, and movement influence how a song feels to the listener. We’ll explore common melodic mismatches and how to adjust them so the melody supports—not competes with—the message. This session will help you write melodies that feel honest, intentional, and emotionally aligned. Because when the melody agrees with the lyric, the song lands deeper and lasts longer.
Meet your Session Host: Alyssa Oliver Cone
Although Nashville based, traveling is half the life of Alyssa Oliver Cone. Her days consist of vocal coaching, studio session singing, and managing her corporate entertainment group, Young Hearts. Weekends are all about traveling with her family, performing for events, and leading worship as much as possible.
